Big turnout for back-to-school sports and activities exhibition

MARIGOT—Scores of parents and children descended on Mercure Hotel in Baie Nettle on Saturday for the twelfth edition of the Back to School Sports and Activities Forum organised by Calypso Events.

Many clubs and associations had stands set up to provide information on sports activities and parents could sign up their children on the spot.

Organisers indicated some 33 exhibitors took part for the day-long event, representing a variety of different sports, as well as cultural, artistic or craft activities.

Sports represented included tennis, swimming, martial arts, rugby, football, fencing, archery, athletics, gymnastics, golf, volleyball, basketball, and more.

Several demonstrations were given during the day. Smaller children were kept occupied outside on the beach a trampoline, bouncy castle etc. Special discounts and offers were also available.

Artistic and cultural stands were situated in another room. Represented there were Ateliers Deco SXM, Joy Language Club, Pianissimo, Sol’Art, Abracada Bac, Temps Danse, and Hot N Spicy Carnival Association.

The public gets another chance to join sports clubs this coming Saturday, September 17, for the Collectivité’s annual sports information day being held at the Omni Sports Hall in Galis Bay from 9:00am to 2:00pm.
