ANGUILLA—The Anguilla team competing in the Commonwealth Youth Games in The Bahamas leaves on Saturday, July 15.
The team includes Colin Richardson who will compete in Boxing; Jamari Bryan and Xavi Brooks for Cycling; Xander Vasilis for tennis; T-Kailah in the 200m track and field. They will be accompanied by Timothy Richardson and Heather Richardson, coach and team leader respectively.
The Games start on July 19 and continue to July 23. Some 1300 athletes aged 14-18 years are expected from 70 nations of the Commonwealth. It will be the largest international sporting event ever held in The Bahamas and the largest ever youth games. Some 94 medals will be contested across athletics, aquatics, beach soccer, boxing, cycling, judo, rugby, tennis and beach volleyball. Most events will be held at the Queen Elizabeth Sports Centre with a 15,000 seat stadium.
