PHILIPSBURG--St. Maarten’s signature endurance event will return on Sunday, December 7, 2025, as the 4th Annual St. Maarten Marathon once again brings runners from across the world to “Run in Paradise.”
This year’s race will start at Divi Little Bay Beach Resort and finish at historic Fort Amsterdam, showcasing the island’s landscapes from sunrise to finish line.
Building on last year’s record participation, organisers say the 2025 edition will offer four race distances designed for runners of all levels. The ENNIA St. Maarten Marathon will take athletes on a 42.2-kilometre journey around the entire island, beginning in the early morning darkness and finishing under the morning sun.
The Tortuga Maho Half Marathon will cover 21.1 kilometres, following the full marathon route to French Quarter before looping back through Dutch Quarter
to Divi Little Bay.
The Country Club Port de Plaisance 10K Run will guide runners over Boardwalk Boulevard in Philipsburg, around town, towards Carrefour, past St. Maarten Medical Center and up to Fort Amsterdam.
The HBN Law & Tax 5K Walk & Run will offer a family-friendly route along Great Bay, starting at Divi Little Bay, crossing Boardwalk Boulevard and ending
at the fort.
It remains uncertain whether last year’s champions – Simon Chuinard and Floor van der Meulen (full marathon), Greg Pigeon and Roma Dhanani
(half marathon), Omarco Robinson and Eloise Prodhomme (10K), and Risto Chalkov and Martine Loubser (5K) – will return to defend their titles.
Organisers say interest is high, and even note rumours that a professional runner from Kenya may be joining the race.
“We are extremely proud to see how much the St. Marten Marathon has grown in just four years,” the organising team said. “Each year, we’ve seen more runners, more support, and more international recognition. With every edition, we’ve become not just bigger, but better and more professional.
From the beginning, our vision was simple: to create a race that showcases the beauty of our island and unites people through the spirit of running.”
The team said the event now welcomes participants from “Canada, the United
States, the Caribbean islands, the Netherlands, France, and all corners of Europe.”
Organisers are again calling for volunteers to support the event, both on race day and during the preparation days on December 5 and 6. Those interested
