Professional baseball player Rene Leveret of South Reward connected for his 1,000 hit.
Leveret said, “Got it. 1000th career hit with a ground rule double to right field.” Leveret plays for the Saltdogs in Lincoln Nebraska. His 1,000 hit came in the top of the fifth inning as the Saltdogs faced the Texas AirHogs in Texas. AirHogs won 3-2. Leveret was traded to the Saltdogs in November 2015. He finished last season with 12 home runs in 99 games. This year he has six home runs in 43 games and is averaging .329.
