Dear Editor,
Please allow me some space in your newspaper to respond, once again, to Mr. Clive Hodge on the subject of homosexuality.
Good morning Clive, thank you for your response. I have just a few remarks about your article.
1. You say that one per cent of the world is homosexual. Worldwide that percentage is between three and 10 per cent. (St. Maarteners think in St. Maarten it is three per cent and in Saba 10 per cent (haha)).
2. Your second mistake: You say that people choose to become homosexual. Sorry, Clive. You are born heterosexual or homosexual, or do you want to tell me that after long thinking you decided to become heterosexual? What I want to say is that, if God created man, he created heterosexuals and homosexuals. I hear you sputtering, Clive, “But Gerard, God cannot make mistakes!” Well, Clive, I have a theory to explain this. When God created the world he did that in six days. In five days, He created the earth, the rivers, the mountains, the seas, the million species of plants and animals, the millions of stars, the sun and the moon. So after five days of work he was very tired and then he created man. He was so tired, that the creation of man was very imperfect. If I could have been the unpaid advisor of God, I would have advised Him to have created man on the second day.
3. You think that even more than 40 per cent of homosexuals commit suicide. This is too high a percentage, but I know why they commit suicide, because they are also 40 per cent Christians who hate them!
