Well dear readers of this great newspaper, this is an opportunity to say something to you all including the parties we have to vote for. Obviously, there will be another coalition in Government.
So know this, due to the recent tragic killing by speedsters on the Airport Road, I will vote for the first party that comes up with the promise to build a bicycle path with room for runners on the Airport Road; an extension from the Causeway to Maho.
Cycling is a major sport on the island; these young people represent our island at international races, and what’s more it helps to keep a good number of boys and girls away from the easy life of drugs and alcohol.
I came to the island in 1970, and for many years there were police checking that Airport Road, one at the beginning, by the Windward Island Airways office, and another by Simpson Bay. Why can’t we have that anymore? Please show me that you can do this, surely it can’t be that hard.
Looking forward to see who will be the first.
