Front page septic article

Dear Editor,

On behalf of the owners and the tenants of the Royal Village we wanted to let you know that the septic issue reported on your front page is not being generated by the Royal Village, Pineapple Pete or the Rhino Safari or any other occupant of the Village, as some may have misunderstood from your article.

The Royal Village and Palm Plaza are victims of the misuse of the public drainage canal that runs along an easement of the property. This issue has been going on for months and is making doing business in the area next to impossible. The culprits are ruining our environment without regard for it or the others who suffer from their abuse.

The Royal Village has an independent septic treatment system that is highly rated, for which a hindrance permit has been issued and it is monitored regularly by the technical personnel who maintain it as well as the authorities to ensure that it continues to meet the strict criteria for operation.

If there are rules and regulations for one individual, these same rules and regulations must apply for all, and we echo the Nature Foundation’s call for the Prosecutor to act to protect our environment and to stop this atrocity against our lagoon.
