Wyatt and Bowers-Lake recognised for dedicated service in education

Teacher Rose-Marie Wyatt, Foundation Catholic Education Executive Director Lilia Aventurin-Hodge, Teacher Carmen Bowers-Lake and Foundation President Dr. Marlon Halley.

PHILIPSBURG--Teaching is considered a very noble and fulfilling profession with teachers impacting and changing many lives in St. Maarten. Among their ranks stand Rose-Marie Wyatt and Carmen Bowers-Lake, who have dedicated decades of their lives to the teaching profession.

The Foundation for Catholic Education SKOS recognised their commitment and dedication to their vocation at the recent end-of-the-year “Night of Homage.”

SKOS said it is grateful for the contributions made by the two outstanding teachers to the education of the country’s youngsters and wished them much strength and success in the future.

Wyatt marks 35 years of dedicated service to SKOS. She served as school manager at Jolly Dwarf Kindergarten for 17 years and is now impacting minds at St. Dominic Primary School.

Bowers-Lake was the school manager at St. Joseph School for 25 years. She is now Coordinator of Religious Education in all the Catholic schools in St. Maarten.

SKOS operates six schools offering Foundation-Based Education and one secondary school, providing education for more than 2,000 pupils and students.
