PHILIPSBURG--Sophia Rismay is the new president of Windward Islands Civil Servants Union/Private Sector Union (WICSU/PSU) and replaces former president Julia Solognier. Board elections took place at the WICSU/PSU headquarters in Philipsburg on Friday morning.
Members of the union came to cast their votes for a President, General Secretary and Treasurer. Riegnald Arrindell retained his seat as General Secretary, while Fransico Mariana was elected treasurer. Rismay received 74 votes, Arrindell 115 and Martina 72.
The board will meet in the coming days and will inform the public about their plans for their two-year term.
