ANGUILLA--Forty-four-year-old American man Garvin Scott Hapgood was arrested and charged by the Royal Anguilla Police Force for the offence of manslaughter.
The charge followed the death on Saturday, April 13, of a national of Dominica who was resident in Anguilla and worked at one of the island’s hotels in the West End.
Hapgood appeared before the Magistrate on Wednesday, April 17, where an application was made for bail on his behalf. On hearing the application, bail was denied and Hapgood was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison. He is due to return to court on Thursday, August 22.
