MARIGOT--The union UNI.T 978 and Louis-Constant Fleming Hospital union Federation de la Santé et de L’Action Sociale (FSAS-CGTG) organised a march in Marigot on Wednesday, in recognition of Labour Day.

The unions said May 1 is the opportunity to reinforce union commitments to defending the rights of workers on both sides of the island.

All union organisations and the population from French side and Dutch sides were invited, however, the numbers participating were not that great. Marchers gathered at the Galisbay car park at 6:30am for the start at 7:00am.

The course took the marchers to the Agrément roundabout, along Rue de Hollande, the junction at St. James, Rue Lowtown, Bellevue roundabout, the border, and back to Bellevue, Rue de Hollande, Rue de la République, and the finish in Galisbay car park where refreshments were served.
