Two robberies added to police’s caseload

PHILIPSBURG--Detectives of the Special Robbery Unit are investigating two separate robberies which recently took place. The first robbery took place last week Friday at 3:45pm on the Union Farm Road.

The manager of a construction company was robbed of his payroll for employees by two gunmen. After these men robbed the victim, they fled the scene. The second robbery took place on Monday, May 15, at Su Supermarket on Aaron Jacobs Drive in Cay Bay.

The robbery took place at 7:25pm; two masked men each armed with a machete, stormed into the supermarket threatening the cashier and robbing the establishment of an undisclosed amount of cash. After committing this act both suspects fled the scene on foot.

The Special Robbery Unit is asking anyone who may have information regarding these two robberies to get in contact with the police department by calling 542-2222 ext. 213/ 214, the police anonymous tip line 9300 or the emergency line 911.
