Children take part in a running race on the Boulevard of Grand Case on Friday afternoon during Victor Schoelcher Fête.

Numerous traditional games, including running, swimming races, bicycle races, egg-and-spoon races and jumping in the bag were organised, as well as traditional boat racing in the bay. The activities provided lots of fun for young and old, complementing a full weekend of musical entertainment in the village. Organiser Jean-Philippe Richardson said there was a good participation. “It’s important to keep these old-time games and activities going… it’s part of our culture, and we’ll be doing this again for sure next year,” he said.
