Town hall meeting on hurricane season

Windwardside

SABA--The Executive Council of the public entity Saba will be holding a town hall meeting about the Atlantic Hurricane Season at Eugenius Johnson Center in Windwardside, on Tuesday, August 30, starting at 7:30pm.

The Atlantic Hurricane Season runs from June 1 to November 30, with August 15 until October 15 generally considered the peak season.

Each year by May, the island government starts with hurricane preparations, clean-ups and awareness campaigns.

“It is essential for everyone living on Saba to know what to do before and during hurricane season and to prepare on time. We would like your input on the best way to prepare the community for hurricane season,” the Executive Council stated in its invitation to the Saba community to attend next week’s town hall meeting.

During this meeting, Sabans can get themselves acquainted with the Disaster Management Team and the preparations involved.

They will also be provided with information on how to better prepare for the hurricane season and will be able to give feedback on how the public entity can better prepare the community for the hurricane season.

“As the weather is unpredictable, we want to ensure that we remain prepared as a community,” the Executive Council said.
