Tackling spills

Representatives of major concrete suppliers A-Top Concrete, Sint Maarten Concrete, Central Mix Concrete and Simple Concrete met with Police Inspector Helen Romeo and Sergeant Sidney van Bosse of the Police Traffic Department last week Friday to discuss serious issues regarding the concrete spills on or on the side of the public roads.

These spills cause serious damage to the pavement and to vehicles using the road. How to prevent these spills from happening and how to have spilled concrete cleared and cleaned up immediately were discussed, along with many other topics. The concrete suppliers have jointly come to the agreement that a clean-up of these spills will take place between 7:00 and 10:00am Saturday, November 17, under supervision of the Ministry of Public Housing, Spatial Planning, Environment and Infrastructure VROMI and police.
