SYNOPSIS:
A relatively dry and stable air mass is dominating the weather across the local region, restricting shower activity during this forecast period. Meanwhile, the weakened Atlantic high pressure system will maintain easterly winds across the region.
Swells from Florence are affecting the northern and eastern shores with seas peaking near 7 feet during the next few days.

SPECIAL FEATURE:
At 11:00 am, the center of Tropical Storm Florence was located about 865 miles northeast of St. Maarten. Florence is moving toward the west at 8 mph with maximum sustained winds near 65 mph, little change in intensity is expected today. However, Florence is expected to become a hurricane once again over the weekend.
Florence does not pose a threat to St. Maarten.
The St. Maarten Meteorological Department will continue to monitor the progress of this system.
