SSSD hosting ‘Modern Drugs and the Influence of Music’ workshop

PHILIPSBURG –The Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth and Sport Student Support Services Division (SSSD) is organising an interactive and informative workshop called “Modern Drugs and the Influence of Music.” The department calls on parents of primary and secondary school-going children to attend the workshop.


Parents, school personnel and other interested persons are also encouraged to come out to this workshop which will be held at University of St. Martin on Wednesday, June 27, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
The objective of the workshop is to help all attendees understand the evolution of drugs to attract youth, how the music industry and popular songs glamorise and encourage drug use, and what they can do about it. Tips and strategies will be given that attendees can utilise for their personal and individual family situation.

SSSD provides psychological services, counselling services, social work services and educational diagnostic services to students referred by the schools. SSSD also provides career services and parent education sessions.
