Sexual awareness

The St. Maarten AIDS Foundation recently held Real Talk and Girl Power Workshops for St. Maarten Academy’s Preparatory Secondary Vocational Education (PSVE) section students, during which students were taught the importance of self-value and respect, life goals and identifying what are healthy and unhealthy relationships.

Female students were “very creative” with poems and writing personal messages on their Girl Power T-shirts, the Foundation said on Tuesday. There were many open discussions and the interactions amongst students and facilitators, who included Rene Violenus, Judy Edouard, Erick van Arneman, Suzianne Duzong-Davis, Shelli Marcano, Heather Caputo and Karin van der Plas.
