Seventh-Day Adventist Church to host presentation on ‘Christian sexuality’

ZAGERSGUT--The Seventh-Day Adventist Church will host several presentations on “Christian sexuality” at the Philipsburg Seventh-Day Adventist Church on Zagersgut Road on Saturday, November 16, from 9:30am to 5:00pm. The sessions will be led by Wayne Blakely, an Adventist and founder of Know His Love Ministries.

The first session is entitled “Born that way”. It will be followed by another session called “Shaken to the foundation”. In the afternoon, a film entitled, “Journey Interrupted” will be shown, after which will be a question-and-answer session.

Journey Interrupted depicts five individuals who share their personal stories of struggle with sexual identity. The documentary addresses two questions: What does the Bible say about gender identity and homosexuality, and how should Christians respond to these divisive issues? According to website

christiancinema.com, these questions are explored “with candour and sensitivity through the lens of personal testimony.”

According to Blakely, this event is about “Christianity and sexuality” and is “open to anyone who is interested in God’s word and how it relates to them and sexuality.”

“We get confused about temptations, attractions, behaviour and identity … this [event – Ed.] is to help people know what their identity is in Jesus Christ,” he said, adding that the event is not meant to force anyone to change. Instead, it is invitational and based on “love, compassion, and tenderness.”

For more information, persons are asked to contact Seventh-Day Adventist Pastor Vashni Cuvalay at tel. 1-721-520-8027.
