Sand on Boardwalk, no flooding in town

PHILIPSBURG--High waves associated with a prevailing weather system deposited sand,  seaweed, hurricane debris, flotsam and jetsam onto Boardwalk Boulevard over the weekend. The rough surf is still washing up along the walkway.

It has been several years since the "spring tides" have impacted the southern shoreline in this way. Prior to the building of the boardwalk these high tides rushed through the alleyways connecting Great Bay Beach and Front Street flooding areas in their wake. This is not the case now.
