RICE HILL--Eighteen new residential lots came online Thursday with the opening of Rice Hill Gardens Phase 3A. One lot has already been sold, pre-road construction, to a young professional. Phase 3 will eventually comprise 49 lots that will come on the market in stages.

Rice Hill Gardens is a gated community with 24/7 security. It is located just before Oyster Pond, across from the ruins of the historical Belvedere Plantation, only minutes from Philipsburg and Orient Bay.

Phase 3A is one of the first residential projects since the 2017 hurricanes to open up to persons eager to own a home. The neighbourhood, already home to a number of professionals and business owners for more than a decade, offers underground utilities and fibre-optic cable to the home.

Phase 3A lots offer varying views of hills, valleys and out to the ocean spanning from Belvedere to Tintamarre (Flat Island). The lots start at 1,250 square metres and most are easier to build on with slopes starting at 4.7 degrees.

A special discount of 10 per cent is offered during road construction, said developer and Managing Director Astrid Gartner-Plantz.
