Seas are expected to peak near 4 feet through the next few days.
STATE OF THE SEA: Slight WAVES/SWELLS: up to 4 feet
SPECIAL FEATURE: Tropical Storm Gabrielle continues to move away, remaining no threat to St Maarten.
Disorganized showers and thunderstorms located several hundred miles east of the Leeward Islands are associated with a tropical wave. Development, if any, of this system will be slow to occur while it moves slowly northwestward.
A low pressure system located near the southern Cabo Verde Islands is producing a small area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms, mainly to the west of the center. Little if any development of this disturbance is expected for the next couple of days, but environmental conditions are expected to become for a tropical depression to form early next week while the system moves westward across the tropical Atlantic Ocean. Formation chance through the next two to five days is 20 to 70 percent.
The Meteorological Department of St. Maarten will continue to monitor the progress of these systems and update the public accordingly.
OUTLOOK through Sunday midday: Partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated showers possible.
