The dominant Atlantic high pressure system is generating brisk easterly winds across the region. Patches of moisture embedded in the wind flow may produce brief isolated showers.
As a result of strong winds and rough seas, hazardous marine conditions are expected for the next several days. Therefore, a small craft warning is in effect for St. Maarten. Sea bathers and occupants of small crafts are urged to stay on shore.
