PHILIPSBURG--Detectives of St. Maarten Police Force KPSM have arrested several suspects over the past few weeks, including during the past weekend, as part of ongoing investigations into a series of armed robberies committed across the island in recent months.

These investigations cover robberies targeting jewellery stores in Philipsburg and Simpson Bay, supermarkets in the Cole Bay area, casinos, and tourists who were attacked at various locations. Arrests have also been made in connection with robberies committed near a gentlemen’s club in Simpson Bay and on Front Street, where visitors were targeted.

Detectives of KPSM’s Special Robbery Unit, working in close collaboration with other operational units, have been conducting intensive efforts to identify, locate, and apprehend those responsible for these crimes. To date, arrests include individuals connected to a casino robbery, a scooter robbery, multiple incidents involving tourists, home invasions, supermarket robberies, and a robbery of a courier.

Seventeen suspects have been detained for their alleged involvement in robberies at various jewellery stores around the island.

KPSM has confirmed that investigations remain ongoing and that additional arrests are expected in the coming days and weeks as detectives continue to track down remaining suspects.

KPSM reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the safety of residents and visitors, and expressed gratitude to the public for their continued cooperation. Anyone with information that may assist in these or other investigations is urged to contact KPSM at +1 (721) 542-2222 or the anonymous tip line 9300.
