PHILIPSBURG--Beautification works in the Philipsburg area will continue this Friday, according to the Ministry of Public Housing, Environment, Spatial Development and Infrastructure VROMI on Tuesday

Work on the nation's capital started back in July.

Beautification works will start at Cyrus Wathey Square. The plaza will be closed for all pedestrians while the work is taking place and re-opened thereafter. These works will be carried out by Ministry VROMI’s Department of Infrastructure Management from 6:00am to 3:00pm.

Motorists and pedestrians are requested to be vigilant and observant as various types of heavy equipment will be used during working hours.

The infrastructure beautification works entail removal of dead trees, black plastic mats, metal rods and electrical wires; replacement of missing bricks; and the removal of old telephone booths, etc.
