Parliament won't meet

Giselle McWilliam

WILLEMSTAD--President of Curaçao's Parliament Giselle Mc. William (MAN) postponed all meetings that were scheduled for this week until further notice.

The legislature was supposed to talk about the letter received from the Council of State on the proposal to give the Members of Parliament in Aruba, St. Maarten and Curaçao the opportunity to submit Kingdom Law proposals.

Parliament was also going to talk about the local airline InselAir with the Ministers of Traffic, Transportation and Spatial Planning, of Finance and of Economic Development. Another, related agenda topic was air traffic safety.

A "new majority" formed by MFK, KdNT, PS, MP and independent (former PAR) parliamentarian Eduard Braam has sent a letter to McWilliam asking for a meeting specifically to undo her appointment as chairlady.
