Parliament meets today on 3 draft ordinances

PHILIPSBURG--Three draft national ordinances will be before Parliament today, Monday, in a public session starting at 3:30pm. Prime Minister/General Affairs Minister William Marlin will table the ordinances.

The first draft ordinance aims to amend the national ordinance on sanctions to bring into force recommendation six of the Financial Action Task Force to implement without delay the restrictive measures and some technical legal adjustments.

The second ordinance seeks to amend the rule that regulates civil service law containing regulations concerning the organized consultations on the status of public servants.

The third is the ordinance seeking to amend the Constitution to expand the circle of eligible voters for Parliamentary Elections.

The parliamentary session will be live on St. Maarten Cable TV Channel 120, Pearl Radio FM 98.1, www.pearlfmradio.com and www.sxmparliament.org.
