Parliament approves delegation to attend Saba Day celebrations

PHILIPSBURG--Parliament approved the St. Maarten delegation to attend the official Saba Day celebrations, which will be held on December 6.

Parliament Chairperson William Marlin said at the beginning of the meeting that Parliament had received an invitation from Saba’s Executive Council on November 12 to attend this year’s 44th anniversary of Saba Day.

Marlin said the delegation should be made up of four Members of Parliament (MPs). He proposed MP Wycliffe Smith of St. Maarten Christian Party (SMCP), MP Sarah Wescot-Williams of United Democrats (UD), independent MP Rolando Brison, and MP Christophe Emmanuel of National Alliance (NA) to comprise the delegation.

MPs accepted the proposal unanimously.
