MARIGOT--Orient Bay was listed as the sexiest beach in the Caribbean in an article listing the top 13 sexiest beaches.
Online Caribbean Journal (CJ) noted that Orient Beach is “the Caribbean’s equivalent of Ibiza. Here there is beach bar after beach bar, party after party, all on a wide white-sand beach. (Never mind that the latter portion of the resort is au naturel.) There’s just an overarching party atmosphere,” the author wrote.
In addition to the sexiest beach, St. Martin also had the privilege of having the number 11 beach on the list. Long Bay was touted for its “intoxicating ... shape and topography” both of which were complemented by the presence of the Belmond La Samanna, one of the greatest resorts in the Caribbean.
The article featuring the two local beaches appeared in the online travel journal on August 17. According to the magazine the 13 beaches featured have the characteristics that include everything from “great beach bars to the simply exotic locale” criteria that are imperative to the designation of a sexy beach.
