Only 20 buses allowed to service French-side route

PHILIPSBURG/MARIGOT--Minister of Tourism, Economic Affairs, Transport and Telecommunications (TEATT) Ingrid Arrindell and the TEATT Inspectorate announced on Thursday that only twenty buses are allowed to service the Philipsburg-Marigot route.

This is based on recent agreements made between the Collectivité of St. Martin’s Transportation Authority and the TEATT Minister. Drivers of buses not on the list who continue to operate the Marigot-Philipsburg route can receive fines and have their vehicles confiscated by the Gendarmes.

The TEATT Inspectorate, via its Transport Section, will also be conducting controls on the Dutch side of the island and will be sanctioning bus drivers who are found to be in violation.

The plates of the buses allowed to service the Philipsburg-Marigot route are Bus 106, Bus 223, Bus 11, Bus 129, Bus 25, Bus 208, Bus 111, Bus 212, Bus 57, Bus 23, Bus 18, Bus 2, Bus 152, Bus 196, Bus 160, Bus 120, Bus 49, Bus 163, Bus 83 and Bus 131, according to the TEATT Ministry.
