Nurses Week

To commence nurses’ week on St. Maarten this week, nurses from the St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) and several nursing homes came together at the Philipsburg Seventh-day Adventist Church this past weekend to give thanks, praise and ask the Lord’s continued blessings.

Words of wisdom and encouragement were delivered by Nurse Antonio Pantophlet who laid a fitting foundation for an item following “How Great is our God” hymn by the nurses’ choir. Youth Pastor Kumal Smith delivered the sermon “I am that I am” – thought-provoking words reminding nurses that the method of Jesus’ healing always dealt with the root of the problem and demonstrates that what He has done is not as great as things His followers today can do. The Seventh-day Adventist Church pays much attention to health and caring for the sick and as such the Church was thrilled to have the hard-working nurses and Association members from St. Maarten and Anguilla worshiping with them, according to a statement from the Church.
