New cars for police

The St. Maarten Police Force (KPSM) received two new vehicles to be added to its fleet. Four more vehicles are to be added to KPSM soon, according to police on Sunday.

The new vehicles will be assigned to the Detective Department. Several Detective vehicles suffered severe damage during the passing of Hurricane Irma in September and were deemed unfit for driving. With the addition of the new vehicles, police say they are in a much better position to provide much-needed service and security to the community particularly during the upcoming holiday season. Minister of Justice Rafael Boasman handed over the keys of the vehicles to Chief Inspector Benjamin Gout on Thursday.
