National Trust organising birdfeeder & seed giveaway

Hummingbird feeder and bird seed.

ANGUILLA--The Anguilla National Trust is to distribute hummingbird feeders and birdseed on Saturday, January 13, from 1:30pm to 5:00pm. The event is to start off 2018 which is the Year of the Bird.

The hummingbird feeders include how to make sugar nectar and persons are asked to bring their own container for the birdseed. The feeders and birdseed are free of charge and were donated by BirdsCaribbean, a regional organisation dedicated to the conservation of wild birds and their habitats.

It is particularly appropriate after the recent hurricanes that the hummingbirds are fed and encouraged to stay on the island. No figures are available but quite a few have already been observed including the tiny Antillean Crested hummingbird.
