MPs to meet about dump situation today

PHILIPSBURG--Minister of Public Health Emil Lee and Minister of Environment and Infrastructure VROMI Miklos Giterson will be in in Parliament House today, Wednesday, at 2:00pm to continue an urgent Central Committee of Parliament meeting about the current situation at the constantly-on-fire dump and possible solutions.


This meeting started on February 7 and was suspended to give the two ministers time to research answers and information about questions posed by Members of Parliament (MPs).
A number of civil servants involved in tackling the dump issue will also be present for the meeting.
MPs will meet in a sitting of the Permanent Committee of Kingdom Affairs and Inter-Parliamentary Relations prior to the session on the dump. This meeting, set to start at 11:00am, will be a debriefing on the Inter-Parliamentary Kingdom Consultation IPKO and tripartite meetings of St. Maarten, Aruba and Curaçao held in The Hague May 28 to June 1.
