SOUTH REWARD--Interested persons can now learn about the history of Milton Peters College (MPC) and Sundial School, as well as go down memory lane with pictures of the schools in their earlier years in a jubilee anniversary booklet for both schools that is currently on sale.
Sundial School is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, while MPC is celebrating its 40th anniversary.
Persons who have already ordered the booklet can take their receipts to MPC or to the School Board for Secondary Education in Philipsburg to pick up the booklet.
Copies can also be purchased either at MPC or from the school board’s office. Copies are also available at both locations of Van Dorp, one of the sponsors of the publication. The booklet costs US $20 per copy. The sale of the booklet is also a fundraiser for the schools.
The two institutions have planned a series of activities this year to mark the anniversaries. The activities include a Talent Show and Art Exhibition by current and former students and staff of Sundial School that will be held on May 26, under the tent at Princess Port de Plaisance and Casino. Entrance is US$10. From July 27 to 30 a school reunion (1966 to 2015) will be held at Sundial School. MPC already held a reunion event earlier this year. On August 10, an Educational Symposium will be held with guest speaker Alan November.
