Mosquito fogging will continue today to Wed.

PHILIPSBURG--The Health Ministry’s Collective Prevention Services (CPS) said on Sunday that its mosquito-fogging campaign will continue today, Monday, to Wednesday and provided that there is no rainfall.

The fogging takes place 6:00-8:00am or 6:00-8:30pm. Residents who would like to report an increase of mosquito activity in their area can call tel. 520-2874.

The following areas will be fogged between Monday and Wednesday: Diamond and Almond Grove Estate, Orange Grove, Cole Bay, Cay Bay, Royal Palm Resort/bridge and Simpson Bay Village.

Fogging has already been completed up to Saturday, November 24, in Fort Willem, Great Bay, Rabbit Hill, Welgelegen, A.J.C. Brouwer Road, L.B. Scott Road, Bush Road, The Villa-Zagersgut Road, Coralita Road, Mary’s Fancy, Cul de Sac, Indigo Bay, Cay Hill, Ebenezer, Saunders, Weymouth Hill, South Reward and St. Peters.

Residents in residential areas where fogging is taking place are urged to leave all their doors and windows open to allow the insecticide to enter their building or house; prevent pets from coming in contact with the insecticide; toys for children should be covered, stored away and washed as caution to ensure protection; all water containers and foodstuffs, etc., must be well protected from exposure to the fogging.

CPS urges residents to continue to destroy mosquito breeding spots; dress appropriately by wearing light coloured clothing at dusk, long-sleeve shirts and pants; and defend against being bitten by a mosquito by using repellent.
