Men at work

Preparations to install a main waterline, sewerage, high-tension cables and other utilities cables along Yrausquin Boulevard and Buncamper Road were started on Wednesday.

A trench for all the lines and cables will be opened, starting from the cargo section of Dr. A.C. Wathey Cruise and Cargo Facilities to the Freedom Fighters Roundabout. One lane on the affected road will be closed off temporarily for sections of the work, leaving the other lane for alternating one-directional traffic. Construction activities will continue in the night on narrow sections to reduce traffic disruption. Involved in the project are utilities company GEBE, the Ministry Public Housing, Environment, Spatial Development and Infrastructure VROMI, St. Maarten Cable TV, TelEm and United Telecommunications Services (UTS).
