Man won’t press charges against knife wielding wife

PHILIPSBURG--A man, whose wife ill-treated him with a knife, has declined to press charges against his better half.

Police spokesperson Chief Inspector Ricardo Henson said in a police press release on Sunday that the wife with initials D.R was arrested on Soualiga Road on Saturday, July 22, after she mistreated her husband with a knife. The husband sustained several cuts to his face and back during the incident. He was treated on the scene by paramedics and then taken to the St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) for further observation.

Following his treatment, he went to the Police Station and indicated that he did not want to press charges against his wife. After questioning and being summoned to appear in court at a later date, the wife was released.
