Man arrested for threatening police

ST. EUSTATIUS--A 34-year-old man with the initials J.R.S. was arrested in St. Eustatius in connection with threatening and insulting members of the Police Force Caribbean Netherlands KPCN and not complying with police orders on Saturday, October 26. The incident took place at the 318 Right Field bar and restaurant on Paramiraweg.

Following a report of theft, the suspect was approached for an interview at the police station around 5:25pm. During this conversation, the suspect responded aggressively and made threats and insulting remarks. As a result of this, the officers decided to arrest the man, KPCN said on its Facebook page on Wednesday.

The suspect strongly resisted the arrest. The police applied violence and arrested the man. Video images of the incident have been circulating on social media.
