Man arrested for burglary attempt

PHILIPSBURG--One man was arrested as a suspect in an attempted break-in in Cole Bay at approximately 12:20am Sunday, April 16. A police patrol, after receiving information of a burglary in progress at Money 4 Gold, immediately went to the scene to investigate.

On the scene, the patrol saw two unknown men at the rear of the building. The patrol and two off-duty officers who came to assist surrounded the building.

However, one of the men took off running, jumped over a nearby fence and disappeared into the area. The other suspect stayed on the scene and did not resist arrest.

Investigating officers saw that the suspects had attempted to gain access by removing the metal bars of a door at the rear of the building. Officers arrested the remaining suspect and he remains in custody for further investigation.
