PHILIPSBURG--As is customary, Philipsburg Jubilee Library will be offering a grace period to its membership during the summer period; from Monday, June 25, to Saturday, July 7, patrons can bring in all their overdue and/or lost books at no cost, except for DVDs. The grace period will also include damaged and/or lost items due to the passing of Hurricane Irma in 2017.
There are still items pending on patrons’ names that have not been accounted for, therefore, the library is encouraging all patrons to come in and inform them whether the books have been lost and/or damaged because of the devastation by the storm. There will be no penalties issued over the two-week grace period, the library said
Accumulated fines prior to returning of materials will not be waived. Commencing of charges will take place as of Monday, July 9. Readers are urged to use the grace period and return all library materials that are still in their possession.
The fines per book are NAf. 0.10 per child and NAf. 0.25 per adult, except for DVDs which are NAf. 1.80 per DVD per child and NAf. 3.60 per adult.
The library’s opening schedule will remain the same over the summer period, which is Monday 10:00am to 5:00pm; Tuesday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm, and Saturday 10:00am to 1:00pm.
