Large Bush fire causes evacuation of homes

MIDDLE REGION--Close to 20 persons living in five homes were evacuated by firemen due to a large bush fire threatening their homes on Becky Hill Saturday morning.

The blaze started early according to firemen who are presently (10:46am) trying to extinguish the fire. The Fire Department is requesting any persons living directly downwind to close shutters and avoid inhaling the smoke.

Three fire trucks were sent out. However, due to narrow roads leading up to the hill they were forced to carry water by smaller vehicles to fight the flames.
