InterCaribbean Air to start here Feb. 1

TORTOLA, BVI--InterCaribbean Airways will offer new scheduled services from the British Virgin Islands (BVI) to St. Maarten, the US Virgin Islands, Dominica, and St. Lucia as of February 1, 2018.

Travellers are now able to book direct flights from Tortola’s Terrence B. Lettsome International Airport EIS to St Maarten (Princess Juliana International Airport SXM) with two flights daily, St. Thomas (Cyril E King Airport STT) with two flights daily, St. Croix (Henry E Rholsen Airport STX) with one daily flight, Dominica (Douglas Charles Airport DOM) with three weekly flights, and Castries, St Lucia (George F.L. Charles Airport SLU) with three weekly flights.
The service to St. Lucia is a continuation of the flight from Dominica.
InterCaribbean provides nonstop flights between Tortola and Antigua, San Juan in Puerto Rico and Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. It also offers same-day connecting flights to the Turks and Caicos Islands, Jamaica, Cuba, Haiti and the Bahamas.
“We believe that we are the first scheduled airline to offer seven nonstop destinations from the British Virgin Islands,” said InterCaribbean Chief Executive Officer Trevor Sadler. “Furthermore, all connections on our flights, current and new, are planned to minimise layover times.”
Founded as InterIsland Airways in 1991 by Turks islander Lyndon R Gardiner, Chairman of InterCaribbean, the airline started off as a charter service and embarked on an ambitious programme of adding international destinations, gradually adding larger and faster aircraft.
