Long-time resident of St. Maarten and member of DK Gems on Front Street Deepti Daswani had the honour and privilege of meeting King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands during the royals’ recent visit to Mumbai, India.
She met the royals at an event organised by the Dutch Consulate for all the Dutch citizens in the country. “It was a very humbling experience to be amidst the King and Queen who were so down-to-earth. It was a proud moment, being the only one from St. Maarten at the event. I was joined by many guests from Holland as well as some common friends from Curaçao,” Daswani said. She said her husband Hiren Daswani had flown in from China to attend the event. “It was a great evening and experience,” she said.
