St. Maarten born Brian Deher is leading global operations for IGY Marinas.

NEW YORK--IGY Marinas has announced the promotion of Brian Deher to Executive Vice President and Head of Global Marina Operations, marking a significant step in the company’s strategy to strengthen operational performance and industry leadership across its international network.

In his new role, Deher will oversee operations throughout IGY’s expansive portfolio of marinas, which includes 24 destinations in 14 countries across four continents. His appointment comes after more than two decades of service with IGY, during which he has held several senior leadership positions, most recently serving as Vice President of Operations for the Americas. In that capacity, he managed facilities in the United States, the Caribbean and Latin America.

Deher helped to guide multiple IGY locations to top industry accolades. These include Platinum accreditation for IGY Yacht Haven Grande in St. Thomas and 5-Gold Anchor designations for marinas in St. Maarten, St. Lucia, and Cabo San Lucas. Deher has also been closely involved in the company’s broader growth and development efforts.

“Brian’s unparalleled knowledge of marina operations, deep industry relationships, and commitment to IGY’s mission and clients uniquely position him to lead our marina operations,” said Steven English, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of IGY Marinas. “We are delighted to recognise his contributions and leadership through this well-earned appointment.”

Deher is well known throughout the regional and international marine industry. He has served multiple terms as both president and executive board member of the St. Maarten Marine Trades Association and previously represented the group at the Caribbean Marine Trades Association. His professional influence also includes participation in various civic, business, and government advisory initiatives.

Born in St. Maarten, Deher studied in Puerto Rico, the United States, and Europe before earning a Bachelor of Business Administration from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He returned to the Caribbean in 1997 to launch his career in the marine sector, ultimately becoming one of the most recognised figures in yachting operations and marina development.

IGY Marinas congratulated Deher on his new role and expressed confidence in his continued leadership as the company advances its operational goals and global expansion.

IGY operates the world’s only global portfolio of premium yacht destinations and serves more than 10,000 customers annually. As a subsidiary of MarineMax, the publicly listed recreational boating company, IGY benefits from strong links to major maritime brands including Fraser Yachts and Northrop & Johnson.
