PHILIPSBURG--In an effort to give back to the community, St. Maarten Traffic Park Foundation recently gave I Can Foundation a donation of purchased and donated dry-food goods from Cost-U-Less.

The I Can foster home offers living accommodation for children who are victims of neglect, abuse or other social issues, according to Traffic Park Foundation President Charles Benders.

The Foundation, in collaboration with Shy Guy Promotions, organised a Car, Bike and Sound competition fundraiser at the Port which was slated for September 3, but was cancelled due to devastating Hurricanes Irma and Maria.

In the near future, it is the Foundation’s intention to work with children as young as nine years to organise various family-oriented motorised activities, as well as establishing an educational school programme and afterschool activities.

St. Maarten Traffic Park Foundation offers the opportunity to master the traffic rules in a lifelike surrounding using bicycles, pedal-/electric-battery-operated motorised mini-cars in a safe environment. Its motto is “Keeping Idle Minds Busy.”
