A pedestrian was knocked down and injured by a scooter on Wednesday, in French Quarter, while crossing the road. Witnesses said the scooter rider did not stop after hitting the man and fled the scene. It was not known why the scooter collided with the pedestrian. Capitaine Emmanuel Maignan said the man was taken to hospital with a broken hand, but was otherwise not badly injured.
