COLE BAY--Grocery shoppers in the Cole Bay/Simpson Bay and surrounding areas can now breathe a sigh of relief as the newest supermarket in the area – Greens Market – will be opening its doors in the former Daily Extra supermarket building on Tuesday, August 13.

As a special treat for shoppers, the supermarket will be raffling a washing machine and a grill and will have a number of grocery specials.

“Finally, the wait is over,” co-owner Karen Xue told The Daily Herald on Wednesday as she announced the opening. “We are very happy and excited to announce the reopening after such a long and exhausting wait. ‘Thank you’ to all the customers who have been asking me when is the opening, and [saying – Ed.] that they will be back to shop. It gave us the confidence and a warm welcome to be back into the business. It is our pleasure to serve you again,” she said.

Greens Market is a rebirth of Daily Extra, which was affected by Hurricane Irma in 2017 and a fire incident in 2018. The establishment hopes to provide a one-stop shop and convenient retail store that supplies the daily necessities of the public at reasonable prices.
