MARIGOT--On Sunday, President of the Collectivité Daniel Gibbs presented Collectivité Medals and gifts to three fathers in the community selected as exemplary models of fatherhood.
The recipients were Joseph Fleming from French Quarter, Gilbert Dennis from Grand Case, and Filié Edouard from Colombier, each of whom were very flattered to be chosen.
Gibbs took the opportunity to wish all fathers a Happy Father’s Day: “I was delighted to meet these three gentlemen who are in their 90s and have led particularly full lives. They are excellent fathers and I congratulate them because giving a child attention, education and support is crucial in the life of a child. It is exactly the role a father must play,” he said.
