Gasoline, diesel prices increase starting today

PHILIPSBURG--The maximum consumer prices of unleaded gasoline and diesel will be going up as of today, Saturday, September 3, at 6:00am. The prices of gasoline will increase from the current price of NAf. 1.748 per litre to NAf. 1.863 per litre, whereas the diesel price will go up from NAf. 1.274 per litre to NAf. 1.347 per litre.

The gas price increases were announced by the Ministry of Tourism, Economic Affairs, Transport and Telecommunication. The Ministry cited “ongoing developments on the international level” which pushed up the prices of crude oil as the reason behind the “upward adjustments” of the prices for gasoline and diesel.

The Government of St. Maarten regulates the prices of petroleum products by imposing a maximum price at which wholesalers and retailers can sell these products on St. Maarten.
